Why Islam is the True Religion?
Why Islam is the True Religion: With over 4,500 religions and philosophical beliefs in the world, finding the true religion can feel like an impossible quest. As a 22-year-old European man, I asked these very questions: What is the purpose of life? What happens after I die? Is there a true religion? After months of critical research and reflection, I found my answer: Islam.
And I am not alone. Islam has been the fastest-growing religion globally for decades. But why? Let’s embark on a logical journey together to understand what makes Islam stand out as the true religion.
1. The Search for the Creator: Does God Exist?
Why Islam is the True Religion: The first question I grappled with was whether God exists. Observing the universe—its vastness, complexity, and order—led me to a profound realization. From the intricate design of ecosystems to the laws of physics, the universe operates on principles of cause and effect.
Philosophers like Plato and scientists like Isaac Newton have acknowledged that every effect must have a cause. The fruits from a tree, the milk from a cow, and the honey from a bee—all point to an intelligent force behind their creation.
Moreover, the existence of the universe itself, with its perfect balance and natural laws, defies the possibility of randomness. Even if we accept the Big Bang theory, the question remains: What caused it? Logic demands a Creator, an intelligent force behind this flawless creation.
With this reasoning, religions like Buddhism, Jainism, and atheistic philosophies were eliminated, as they deny or ignore the existence of a higher power.
2. Why Do We Need Religion?
Why Islam is the True Religion: Once I accepted the existence of a Creator, I asked: Why would God create us, and is there a need for religion?
Consider the universe’s precision: every element, every being, serves a purpose. Wouldn’t the Creator also give humanity guidance? Just as a laptop comes with a manual from its manufacturer, humans require a divine manual to live purposefully.
Religion provides structure, discipline, and answers to existential questions. Without it, humanity is left to guess, resulting in conflicting values and chaos. Observing life’s challenges, I realized that we need a guide to navigate this test called life—one that offers clear principles and purpose.
3. A Holy Book as the Manual for Life
Why Islam is the True Religion: If God exists and humanity needs guidance, the next logical question is: How does the Creator communicate with us? This brings us to the concept of holy scriptures.
For a holy book to be divine, it must:
- Contain timeless wisdom.
- Be free of contradictions.
- Be preserved from corruption.
Many religions claim divine books, but only one stands out: the Quran. Revealed over 1,400 years ago, the Quran remains unchanged, with no version or edit altering its content. It aligns with science, history, and human nature. Its message is universal, offering solutions for all aspects of life, from personal growth to societal harmony.
This clarity eliminated belief systems that lack a holy book or have texts altered over time, such as pantheism or nihilism.
4. The Role of Prophethood
Why Islam is the True Religion: Humans need teachers to explain complex ideas, even when we have books. Prophets serve as these teachers, exemplifying how to live according to divine guidance. Religions like Judaism, Christianity, and Islam acknowledge the concept of prophethood.
Islam recognizes a chain of prophets, including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all). Each brought the same message: to believe in one God and live righteously.
What sets Islam apart is its assertion that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the final messenger, whose life and teachings provide a complete, unaltered guide for humanity.
5. Why Not Other Religions?
Why Islam is the True Religion: After applying these filters, I was left with three religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. While all three share a belief in one God, key differences stood out:
- Judaism is ethnocentric, restricting its message to a chosen race. Its exclusivity and lack of universality made it insufficient as a religion for all humanity.
- Christianity, while emphasizing love and forgiveness, faces issues like the deification of Jesus and contradictions in its scripture. The Bible exists in multiple versions, and Christianity lacks the clear boundaries and unity that Islam offers.
In contrast, Islam is universal, logical, and consistent. It worships one God without intermediaries and provides a preserved holy book, the Quran.
6. The Timeless Perfection of Islam
Why Islam is the True Religion: Islam is not just a religion; it is a way of life. It emphasizes:
- Discipline and structure: Daily prayers, fasting, and charity foster mindfulness and self-control.
- Equality and justice: Rich or poor, black or white, all are equal in the eyes of Allah.
- Logical reasoning: Islam encourages questioning and learning, harmonizing faith with science.
- Purpose and peace: It provides answers to life’s big questions, offering peace of mind and a sense of direction.
Islam is for everyone, regardless of race, class, or background. It unites people under a single God, creating a strong community rooted in compassion and justice.
7. Islam: The Final Religion
Why Islam is the True Religion: What makes Islam truly unique is its claim to be the final and perfected religion. Allah says in the Quran:
“This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as your religion.” (Quran 5:3)
Islam asserts that it is not a new religion but the continuation and completion of the message brought by previous prophets. Its teachings remain unaltered and relevant, addressing both spiritual and worldly matters.
Conclusion: A Journey to Truth
Why Islam is the True Religion: For me, Islam answered every question with clarity and logic. It fulfilled my search for purpose, discipline, and peace. Its message is universal, timeless, and free of contradictions.
If you are searching for the true religion, I encourage you to explore Islam with an open mind. Why Islam is the True Religion: Like me, you might find that it is not just a religion but the ultimate guide to life.
